Diagnostic Protocol at COLDY DENT: What Sets Us Apart

What is a diagnostic protocol?

This is a sequence of steps that doctors follow when diagnosing a patient. This sequence is standardised for each condition and minimises omissions and the risk of errors.

Diagnostic protocols in all medical disciplines are developed on the basis of scientific research, clinical experience and established medical practices. Following them is mandatory in good practices because it increases the accuracy of diagnoses.

At COLDY DENT Functional Atelier, we follow very strict diagnostic protocols and always adhere to them. They delve into cases in depth and are based on a comprehensive approach.

We attach great importance to these protocols, while at the same time having an individual approach to each patient.

Why is this necessary?

For example, when a patient comes to our practice – be it for a cavity, for teeth cleaning or for whitening, diagnostic protocols help us to track whether the patient has other pressing problems – not only dental, but also in the rest of the body. For example, we never proceed with surgery without having the patient’s blood tests. And often, when we have the results of the blood tests, we see that some indicators deviate from the norm. So the patient begins to look for the cause of these deviations.

We also strictly follow the protocols when diagnosing disorders of the temporomandibular joint, the muscles. In this way we can offer the patient a comprehensive treatment plan in which we take care of the teeth, gums, bone, muscles, joints, as well as the connection between the masticatory organ and the rest of the body.

We pay particular attention to the diagnosis of disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the muscles of the masticatory organ. This allows us to create a comprehensive treatment plan that covers:

  • teeth and gums;
  • bone structure;
  • muscles and joints;
  • the connection between the masticatory organ and the rest of the body.

What happens during the initial consultation?

1. Information session – during the first visit, the patient receives detailed information about our approach and diagnostic process.

2. Strict diagnostic process

  • clinical examination and photographic documentation;
  • examination with a condylograph to analyse the movement of the lower jaw;
  • consultation with an osteopath to assess the interaction between the jaw and the rest of the body;
  • detailed analysis of teeth, muscles and joints.

Our commitment

Based on the information collected, we prepare an individual multidisciplinary treatment plan that guarantees comprehensive care and long-term solutions. At COLDY DENT, we believe that accurate diagnosis is the basis of successful treatment and a healthy smile.
